Fixed Tab Inserter: Overview
Mediprint has 8 different Tab Inserters in its product portfolio, which are permanently installed on or in printing and packaging machines. With special tape structures, flexible rubber guides and various control options, Mediprint Tape Inserters are among the most innovative and follow highest quality standards on the market.
The Tab Inserters are used in a wide variety of industries and machines, e.g. in all sheetfed/web presses, die cutters, flat glass machines or other processing machines. Mediprint Tape Inserters are especially in use in the field of cross-cutting machines due to an optional "tongue". As the Strip Inserters can be individually adapted to applications or press manufacturers, Mediprint offers customers free-of-charge info calls individual questions demand an answer.

STR-5
The solution for cross cutters
The STR-5 is used when the insertion impulse is provided externally by the main machine (in contrast to the STR-4) and when no gap is available from the last to the next product/sheet (e.g. Jagenberg cross-cutting machines). The necessary gap is created by the tape inserter using a separating tongue to place a paper tape.
The separating tongue can be individually strengthened if the product is heavier (e.g. cardboard boxes). The Strip Inserter is usually permanently attached, but can also be used as a mobile unit.
STR-20
The flat all-rounder
The STR-20 is designed for fixed installation in the delivery of large-format (printing) presses. It is available for different press models due to various pre-designed carrier plates.
The STR-20 has a modular design for maximum installation flexibility. Its flat design allows installation at the optimum working position without restricting other operations in the delivery. The Tab Inserter Rolls can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The primary goal is to guarantee problem-free product extraction.
The STR-20 can be controlled via the main machine (insertion and counting impulse required) or autonomously via an external input unit (with display). All control variables and parameters can be individualized.
STR-6
The Original
The STR-6 is Mediprint’s oldest Tab Inserter still in the portfolio. Despite its simple design, the STR-6 impresses with its performance, robustness and quality.
The insertion impulse for the STR-6 also comes from an external main machine. The STR-6 can place a tab as a “standard tape inserter” in the direction of paper travel, with a gap between the last and the next sheet.
This tape inserter is usually permanently attached.
STR-8
The successor to the original
The STR-8 is a further development of Mediprint’s oldest strip inserter, the STR-6. Here, too, the insertion impulse comes from an external main machine. The STR-8 can place a tab as a “standard tape inserter in the direction of paper travel, with a gap between the last and the next sheet.
Compared to the STR-6, the difference lies in the improved design, which results in increased performance with simplified installation. Of course, the STR-8 also has the usual Mediprint quality features, such as an insulated cutter head or the full aluminum construction.
The tape inserter is usually permanently installed.

Mediprint offers selected customers a subscription service on its own products at special conditions. This allows customers to automate the process free of charge and save additional money.
LEASING
Especially for customers whose workload and machine park size fluctuate, we offer individual leasing contracts for our tape inserters in order to streamline their cost structure and at the same time to increase flexibility.
INDIVIDUALISATION
Since most of our products are manufactured in batch sizes <25, individualisation in production can be realised at relatively low cost.
